An engineering team that builds what it designs

ASI MEP Construction Works is a design-and-build MEP contractor based in Chennai, working with company owners, developers, architects and consultants across Tamil Nadu.

Built on engineering and accountability

ASI MEP Construction Works was founded in Chennai with a simple idea: building services should be designed, installed and maintained by people who take responsibility for the whole result.

Too many building owners had been let down by fragmented contracts, where designs did not match what was installed, crews changed every week, and nobody could say why the air-conditioning was not cooling or the pump was tripping. We set out to work differently. We do the engineering first, put a supervising engineer on every site, test everything and record the results, and remain available after handover.

Today we work on commercial, industrial, healthcare, residential and institutional buildings across Chennai and Tamil Nadu. Recent work includes a multi-level atrium building, office floors and meeting rooms, ducted air-conditioning installations, and washroom and water pumping systems. Many of our clients come to us through architects, consultants and other owners we have worked for, and that is the measure we care about most.

Our mission

To design, build and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems that are safe, efficient and dependable, and to give every client one accountable team from the first drawing to the last maintenance visit.

Our vision

To be the MEP contractor that building owners, architects and consultants in South India call first, because our work is right, our documentation is complete, and we are still around when needed.

What we hold to on every job

Four values our engineers, supervisors and technicians work by, whatever the size of the site.

  • Responsibility

If we designed it or installed it, we own the outcome. We do not pass blame to suppliers or other trades.

  • Engineering honesty

We size systems for real needs and say so when a cheaper or simpler option will do the job.

  • Safety first

No deadline justifies an unsafe site. Our people go home safely every day.

  • Clear communication

Itemised quotations, regular progress updates, and plain answers to plain questions.

Three teams, one point of contact

Design, site work and maintenance each have their own team, so every stage of the job is handled by people who do that work every day.

  • Design and engineering

Engineers who carry out calculations, prepare drawings and BOQs, coordinate with architects and consultants, and handle approvals documentation.

  • Projects and execution

Project engineers and supervisors who run sites, manage procurement, coordinate with other trades, and carry out testing and commissioning. Every site has a named engineer who reports progress to you.

  • Maintenance and service

Technicians who carry out scheduled maintenance, attend breakdowns, conduct audits and keep maintenance records.

Your project manager remains your single point of contact across all three teams.

Quality and safety are checked, not assumed

Quality

Quality is built in at each stage. Designs are checked before issue. Materials are inspected against specification on arrival. Work is inspected before it is concealed. Every system is tested, and the results are recorded and handed over. Snag lists are closed before handover, not afterwards.

Safety

Every site runs under a supervising engineer. Crews use personal protective equipment, work at height and hot work need permits, electrical work is done only after safe isolation, and work areas are cleared at the end of each shift. Toolbox talks are held regularly, and near-misses are recorded and discussed so they do not become accidents.

Codes we design and build to

Compliance is not checked at handover. It shapes every drawing from the first day.
