Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to what owners, architects and facility managers ask us most often.
How do you price a project?
Every project is priced on its own scope. After a site visit and a review of your drawings, we send an itemised BOQ quotation that names each item, its specification and the approved make, so you can compare quotes like for like. Design-only work is quoted separately from design‑and‑build.
Is there a charge for a site visit or quotation?
The first site visit and the quotation are part of our enquiry process. If a project needs detailed design before it can be priced, we agree the design fee with you in writing beforehand.
Do you design as well as install?
Yes. We work design-and-build, from calculations and drawings through installation and commissioning. We also build to a consultant's approved design and can prepare tender drawings and BOQs for your consultant.
Do you work with architects, consultants and PMCs?
Yes, regularly. We coordinate services drawings with the architect, respond to consultant comments, and report progress to the PMC in the format they require.
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on the size and scope. A single-floor fit-out may take a few weeks, while a full building takes several months alongside construction. We share a programme with milestones along with the quotation and update it as work progresses.
Do you help with fire NOC and electrical approvals?
Yes. We prepare the fire protection drawings, hydraulic calculations and test reports for fire NOC, and the single-line diagrams and test reports for Electrical Inspectorate (CEIG) approval. We also support you through the inspections.
Which brands do you use?
We work with established makes that are approved by your consultant or agreed with you at the quotation stage. Every make is named in the BOQ, so there are no substitutions without your consent.
What warranty do you give?
Our workmanship is covered for a defect liability period from handover, set out in the contract. Equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty, and we handle warranty claims on your behalf during this period.
What is included in an AMC?
Scheduled preventive maintenance, breakdown attendance and a service report after every visit. A comprehensive AMC includes spares. A non-comprehensive AMC quotes spares separately. Both include an annual health report on the systems.
Will you maintain systems installed by another contractor?
Yes. We begin with an audit of the existing installation, give you a written report of its condition and priorities, and then propose an AMC that fits.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Chennai and work across Tamil Nadu. Larger projects elsewhere in South India are considered case by case.
Can we work with you as a supplier or subcontractor?
Yes. Send your company profile, product range or trade, and references to info@asimep.in. We will contact you when a suitable requirement comes up.
